Occasion Wear : The Inspiration

The Christmas party season comes with that inevitable question; what are you going to wear? This year, Laura Ashley asked us to produce 7 films to present their Occasion Wear range and we couldn't have been more excited to dive into the world of fashion.

Across two days and shot in studio, the Pickle Jar Films team set designed, prop sourced and styled until our heart's content. We produced 6 individual films - one for each outfit - and an overarching master work. We also produced versions for Facebook and Instagram. These films can be found embedded in the Laura Ashley website as well as on their social media channels.

Produced and Directed by Liz Robinson. Shot by DOP Dave Symmons on the Arri Amira and C300 using CNE Prime Lenses, additional camera by Hari Chandegra. Edited on FCPX.

For Laura Ashley's Autumn/Winter 2017 collection, we took a fresh approach. We shot for 3 days on location in store in Bristol, capturing the finishing touches being added to the roomsets and then all the beautiful detail of the product. All 10 films were scripted and voiceover driven and we delivered versions for You Tube, Facebook and Instagram.

Christmas Dining

It's the most wonderful time of the year... and this Christmas Laura Ashley commissioned us to produce 6 films to show off their stunning festive decorations, gifts, tableware, lighting and fragrance. Shot in one day in the Westfield London store, these films were embedded into the brand's website, newsletter and social media channels as part of their Christmas campaign. We also reversioned the films for Facebook and Instagram.

Bedtime

They say we spend a third of our life asleep. If this is true, then our bedrooms really should be a place of peace and sanctuary; This was the exact message that Laura Ashley asked us to portray in their latest promo, showcasing the brand's vast range of beds and beautiful bed linens. The film was rolled out across all Laura Ashley social media channels and embedded in their customer newsletter, resulting in a major spike on their You Tube channel.

Upholstery

To celebrate quality craftsmanship and the best of British workmanship Laura Ashley commissioned us to make a series of films under the banner of Made in Britain. This film, at their furniture factory at Long Eaton, showcased the physical work and skill that goes into each and every sofa, chair or footstool by a team of highly skilled workers using techniques and traditions passed down through the generations.

Design Service 2015

For this project Laura Ashley enlisted us to film two differing case studies to showcase their unique Design Service. The brief was clear – show how easy, how collaborative, accessible and affordable the service is. And then, most importantly, show the results as testified by satisfied customers.

Made to Measure

As part of a series of films to showcase their commitment to British made goods, Laura Ashley sent us to their factory in the heart of Wales to see how their bespoke curtains and blinds are bespoke and made to order. The film was not only used as part of a social media campaign, but also continues to be hosted on Laura Ashley's homepage as well as used on in-store TV screens.

Wallpaper

As the final film in the Made In Britain series, the brief once again was to highlight the workmanship, skill and attention to detail that goes into the creation of Laura Ashley products. Our film lovingly charts every stage of the intricate process of wallpaper production, from design and laser engraving to hand checking and printing.

Furniture Ranges

Our brief for this work was clear – whether you are looking to style your living room, dining room or bedroom, Laura Ashley’s extensive furniture range has something to suit every taste and interior style. As the main promotional film this work was a chance to showcase the ranges in real life situations as well as to enjoy the detail and craftsmanship in each and every item. The work sat easily on the Laura Ashley homepage, as well as for use on in-store screens.

We also were able to produce 16 short, user friendly introductions to each individual furniture range for the Laura Ashley furniture website, embellishing this master footage and material with catalogue imagery and a more direct informative approach.
